Pet Stains & Odor Treatment
Enjoy the Snuggles Without the Smells
Cute as they may be, a family pet can leave an unwanted mark in your living spaces. Pet stains often soak deep into the carpet backing, the pad, or even the floor's subsurfaces, resulting in odors that are hard to remove without professional help.
At Zerorez® we are specially trained on how to treat the surface and sub-surfaces of carpeting, helping to extract even the deepest of pet spots. You can rest assured that we'll leave your floors clean and safe for your pets.
Pet owners often want to know the best way to remove pet spots and odors from their homes. Most traditional carpet cleaners only treat the problem on the surface, covering up lingering odor by adding scents or perfumes. Zerorez can go deeper to ensure a more thorough clean and doesn't add any fragrances in our cleaning process.
Say Goodbye to Stubborn Spots
If not treated, pet stains can create an unpleasant and unhealthy environment.
Acidic urine penetrates the carpet or rug fibers and contaminates both the carpet and the floor underneath. As it dries and oxidizes, the chemical reaction causes a yellowing effect that can permanently stain carpet. With a Zerorez BioTreatment, contaminated fibers are treated to remove as much discoloration as possible.
As urine dries in carpet, it becomes alkaline, and a bacterial and chemical change occurs. Urea salts are formed, attracting moisture that can keep odor-causing bacteria alive for years. To effectively clean your home, what's left must be neutralized to destroy bacteria, killing odor at its source.
To effectively eliminate stubborn pet odors and spots, the carpet backing, pad, and sometimes even the subfloor need to be treated. The standard Zerorez process with our Zr™ Wand can usually get these stubborn spots out. However, for bigger problems, we have a specialized method to remove the deepest spots through a sub-extraction procedure.
Keep a clean, healthier home for you and your pets with Zerorez.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are pet stains and urine to hard to remove?
Pet stains can be very difficult to remove for multiple reasons. If it is pet urine, the urine can crystalize when it dries. Simply cleaning it with household cleaners on a surface level could take a stain out, but the urine crystals still remain. These crystals will continue to cause an odor, especially anytime they are exposed to any moisture.
Can you remove pet urine and odors from furniture or upholstery?
Zerorez can usually remove spots from the surface of upholstery and furniture, assuming there is no discoloring of the actual fabric. Aside from the surface of the furniture, urine may penetrate beneath the surface into the padding of the upholstery, making it extremely difficult to remove.
Does Zerorez remove urine stains from different animals?
All services are to be assessed on site. With that being said, it is likely that Zerorez can do something to help with most situations involving animal urine stains. Our urine extraction and cleaning methods can treat pee and urine spots and their odors if they came from a dog, cat, a human toddler, grandparent, or other animals most of the time.
Does Zerorez remove the smell of cat pee and dog pee from carpet?
Yes! In most cases, Zerorez can eliminate pet urine from the carpet. Smaller areas that are fairly new might be able to be cleaned at the surface level. Larger areas that have been in the carpet for a longer period of time may need a deeper cleaning that requires pad extractions to remove the urine from the padding and backing of the carpet. Our cleaning processes can remove the smell of cat pee and dog pee and other types of animal or human pee and their odors effectively.
